One month after my last book reviews, My Goodreads Reviews Part 41 are here for you with five new book recommendations as your August read. Find your favorite books among short stories, dystopia, historical LitRPG, LGBTQ romance, and non-fiction about book covers. If I were you, I wouldn’t choose much but read all five books and enjoy their diversity. And so I did!
Connections, A Boy and His Dog at the End of the World, King Minos 2: Poseidon’s Revenge (A City-Building LitRPG Series) (Master of the Minoans), Debonair in Disguise, Can You Make the Title Bigga?: The Chemistry of Book Cover Design
I was speechless after reading this short story collection. I have already read Mihai’s poetry and I loved it. And to be honest, I didn’t know what to expect from his short stories. But they have identity, character, meaning, beauty. They are like small paintings, which we must enjoy visualizing. By adding poems to his stories, the author created something special, something unique, worthy of reading and enjoying. Congratulations!

The love for the dog can take you to the most incredible adventure. Fascinating.
King Minos 2: Poseidon’s Revenge (A City-Building LitRPG Series) (Master of the Minoans) by Angelus Maximus
Fueled by fire for getting revenge on the god of water (It’s time for me to send you to the afterlife just like you did to me and my wife, along with all the innocent people of Knossos.), Rusa continues to serve King Minos and builds the Minoan empire. This is the second book in the series you will enjoy reading. Don’t skip it!
So charming! This quick read by Thomas Grant Bruso is what I needed tonight. A sweet little mystery turned into romance with the promise of a new, happier life devoid of loneliness, disconnection, and anxiety. Lovely, warm, and with just the right touch of darkness to make it real.

Jessica Bell was right! Can You Make the Title Bigga?: The Chemistry of Book Cover Design is a fun, interesting, and educational read which with a fine dose of humor gives practical information and advice about book cover design and choosing the perfect designer for your book. It is enriched by her personal experience as an author, musician, publisher, and cover designer, but also with over eighty cool and stunning book covers, mine included. I thank Jessica Bell for using my poetry book cover, Postcards From Beyond Reality: The Selected Poems of Michael Daniels, as an example of how many colors to use when designing book covers, and for this amazing visual and reading experience.
Can You Make the Title Bigga? is something fresh. I can’t say I’ve read a similar book about the self-publishing business which gives so much attention and importance to book cover design as one of crucial steps in publishing your books.
Do I judge (buy) a book by its cover? Heck, yes! How do I rate this book cover? Five stars!
